2028년, 그레이스 교회는 하나님의 신실하심과 은혜를 기념하며 창립 50주년을 맞이합니다. 우리는 하나님께서 주신 이 기회를 통해 그분의 유산을 계승하고, 새로운 건물 증축 사업을 통해 도버 지역에서 하나님의 나라를 계속해서 확장해 나갈 수 있게 되어 기쁘게 생각합니다.


하나님의 왕국 유산을 함께 나누다

우리는 도버에 교회를 세우신 하나님의 은혜로운 사역에 찬양과 감사를 드립니다. 지난 50년 가까이 하나님께서는 그레이스 교회에 풍성한 축복을 내려 주셨으며, 교회를 여러 방면으로 성장시키시고, 분열의 벽을 넘어 사람들을 하나로 모아 화합된 예배를 드리게 하셨습니다.


이러한 축복 중에는 지속적인 확장이 가능하도록 마련해 주신 훌륭한 시설과 부지를 비롯한 여러 자원이 있습니다. 또한 교회가 계속 성장함에 따라 건축 사업을 이끌어 갈 재능 있고 유능한 성도들도 보내 주셨습니다.


그레이스 교회가 새로운 사역의 시기를 맞이함에 따라, 주님께서는 교회 지도부에게 지속적인 건전한 성장을 위한 비전을 주셨습니다. 여기에는 온 교회가 함께 예배드릴 수 있도록 시설을 확장하고 리모델링하는 일, 제자 훈련과 교육을 위한 전용 공간을 마련하는 일, 그리고 지역 사회 내에서의 입지를 강화하여 복음을 위해 돌봄과 지원을 제공하고 모두가 환영받는 만남의 장을 마련하는 일이 포함됩니다.

유산 조성 및 기념 행사 일정

  • 2023년 4월 - 2028년 교회 창립 50주년 기념 행사에 대한 논의가 시작됨
  • 2023년 6월 - 의회에서 창립 50주년 기념 행사 자금 마련을 시작하기로 승인
  • 2024년 7월 - 당회의 지시에 따라 목회진이 건축 사업 추진 가능성을 검토 중
  • 2025년 2월 회의에서 건물 건립 사업을 포함한 창립 50주년 기념 행사 초안 승인
  • 2025년 3월 - 버니 랭거, 50주년 기념 행사 및 건축 프로젝트를 위해 구성될 위원회의 위원장으로 임명됨
  • 2025년 7월 - 레거시 건축 위원회가 구성되고 당회의 승인을 받았으며, 첫 번째 교회 전체 서신인 “하나님의 유산을 세우다 1”이 발송되었다.
  • 2025년 8월 - LB 위원회가 건설, 모금, 행사, 기도 등 4개의 소위원회로 나뉘어 회의를 시작하다
  • 2026년 1월 - 제2차 전 교회 서신 “하나님의 유산을 세우며 2”
  • 2026년 2월 - 총회는 건축 프로젝트의 첫 단계로 새로운 성전을 건립하기로 결정한다. 창립 50주년 기념 행사 및 건축 프로젝트의 공식 명칭은 “레거시 빌딩 앤 셀레브레이션(Legacy Building and Celebration)”으로 정해졌다. “레거시 빌딩 앤 셀레브레이션”의 공식 슬로건은 “은혜에 힘입어, 후손을 위해 세우다(Inspired by Grace, Building for Generations)”로 확정되었다.
  • 2026년 3월 - 교회 전체 설명회
  • 2026년 4월 - 초기 토지 측량 및 부지 계획 작업 시작
  • May 2026 - Grace-Filled Vision Dinner and start of a 3-year pledge fundraising

    Since 1988, our sanctuary has welcomed worship with a beautiful stained-glass window. This year, we invite the window itself to tell our story of generosity and faith. Through the Legacy Building & Celebration fundraising campaign, the glass will be restored to its vibrant colors as funds are pledged and milestones are reached.     월리스-몽고메리는 전체 배치, 동선 및 주요 요소 간의 관계를 시각화하기 위한 개념 단계의 부지 계획도를 작성할 예정이며, 이를 통해 공간 구성과 흐름을 보다 잘 반영할 수 있도록 기존 도면과 설계도를 수정해 나가는 데 필요한 초기 설계 프레임워크를 제공할 것입니다.


    그린 다이아몬드 빌더스는 ‘생츄어리’를 중점으로 한 개념 단계 계획을 수립할 예정이며, 여기에는 초기 구상 및 단계별 계획이 포함됩니다. 경영진의 지침에 따라 ‘생츄어리’를 1단계로 우선순위를 두며, 이러한 순서는 수정된 도면 및 시공 도면에 반영될 것입니다.


    이러한 노력들을 종합하여, 지하 지반 데이터와 개선된 부지 배치, 단계별 시행 계획을 반영하도록 현재의 도면과 설계도를 수정하고 전면적으로 개편할 것입니다.

    • Can I change my pledge later?

      Yes. Your pledge is not a binding contract. We encourage you to prayerfully consider what you are able to give as the Lord leads you to give freely and cheerfully. If your circumstances change over the next 3 years, you may adjust your pledge amount at any time by submitting an updated pledge and noting the changes you have made.

    • What if I can only give once?

      That is perfectly fine. You may contribute one time or as frequently as you would like by spreading your giving over the 3-year campaign.

    • Should I still submit a pledge if my contribution is small?

      Absolutely. Every contribution matters. The emphasis of this initiative is not the size of the gift, but the opportunity for us to join together in the work God is doing through our church. Whatever amount you are able to give, we encourage you to submit a pledge and be encouraged that the Lord blesses the faithful generosity of His people.

    • Can I direct my regular tithes and offerings to the Legacy Building Fund?

      No. Our regular tithes and offerings support the church’s operating budget, including staff salaries, missions, ministry programs, building maintenance, and other expenses. The Legacy Building Initiative is intended to be above and beyond our regular giving so that the regular ministry of Grace Church can continue to thrive.

    • Do you accept non-cash contributions?

      Yes. You can support this building initiative through other contributions like stocks, digital currency, and real estate.

    • What are the best ways to give contributions?

      If you qualify, you can maximize your contributions by directing your giving through a Donor Advised Fund (DAF), Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD), or Estate Planning.

    • What are we building?

      Our initial goal is to build a new sanctuary. We hope to raise approximately $3.7–$4.5 million over the next 3 years toward this project. While that is a significant amount, we trust that God is able to provide through the generosity of His people

    • What if we do not raise enough money?

      The Session and Legacy Building Committee will periodically review our progress toward the goal. During the 3-year period, if it seems unlikely that we will be able to raise sufficient funds, we will communicate openly with the congregation and seek the Lord’s guidance together regarding next steps, additional fundraising, or other options.

    • Will the church take out a loan?

      Yes and no. During the construction process, the church will most likely need to obtain a construction or bridge loan to cover project costs as they are incurred. Our goal is to raise enough funds to pay off all construction-related costs by the completion of the project. If we are successful in doing so, no long-term mortgage loan will be necessary. If additional funds still need to be raised after construction is complete, the Session will evaluate the remaining balance, determine the appropriate loan amount, and present a recommendation to the congregation. Any long-term borrowing would require approval by the congregation at a subsequent congregational meeting.

    • Do we need the funds now?

      Yes. Construction costs continue to rise over time. The longer we delay raising the necessary funds, the greater the cost of the project may become. Early participation helps us move forward more effectively and responsibly.

    • What if I cannot begin giving until later?

      That is completely understandable. Even if you plan to begin contributing at a later date, we encourage you to submit your pledge now. Knowing your intended commitment helps the committee assess our progress and plan responsibly for the future.
